Food struggles can feel so

The best nutrition strategy is the one you want to stick with

The Plenish Motto

If someone has ever promised you a quick fix, the result probably left as fast as it arrived. Let us assure you, it’s not your fault. The vast majority of humans don’t do well with dramatic elimination diets, “perfect” plates, or restrictive rules.

The fact is, solving food-related issues and physical pain takes patience—but patience always pays off.

Instead of assigning intense meal prep plans or rigid food rules, we craft ultra-personalized steps you can maintain and build upon. Think small grocery goals, mini meal changes, and even daily mindset exercises.

Each habit helps motivate you to keep going. Of course, we’re here to support whenever things feel tough.

Danielle

I worked with Kate every other week for a little over six months. Three months after I’ve “graduated” I am amazed at how much better my relationship is with food and with myself. Food used to have an immense amount of power and control in my life and I constantly felt guilty and ashamed. Through working with Kate, I have developed compassion for myself and my body. I know how to make educational nutritional decisions and I can enjoy food and experiences that used to give me a lot of shame and anxiety. What's been amazing is how much I use the tools she gave me this long after our work together - the little choices that felt like mountains feel easier every day. Working with her changed my life.

“I had bad stomach issues and anxiety, and primary care would tell me, ‘Just lose weight and you'll be fine.’ Plenish helped me finally resolve those stomach issues by teaching me to build habits I can keep.

Instead of obsessing about calories or a perfect plate, like I had tried for so long, they had me focus on listening to my body and building little routines. It’s about small changes that stick. If you just want to lose 10 pounds, they’re not for you—and that makes it feel like a very safe space.”

“I felt sort of an instant connection with Kate. She has a way of making you feel very supported and handling sensitive issues gently. She would break everything down so well for me. We weren’t going to worry about not eating snacks this week—we were going to worry about adding different colors of food, getting enough fiber at breakfast. Just little tiny achievable metrics that, when practiced as a whole, were actually digestible. That step-by-step approach really helped me.”

“When you’re dealing with binge eating disorder, the weight of it feels impossible, but she made it digestible — no pun intended.”

What conditions do you work with?

Our practitioners each have their own specialties. Across our team, we specialize in gut health, hormone health, fertility nutrition, pregnancy/postpartum nutrition, eating disorders, intuitive eating, autoimmune conditions, and cardiometabolic health, like high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes. We work with kids, teens, and adults.

What are your practitioner's qualifications?

Our practitioners are Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionists (LDNs), Certified Nutrition Specialists (CNS), and Registered Dietitians (RDs). This means each person has a master's-level degree in nutrition. They also have undergone extensive training focused on their areas of specialization.

What can I expect from sessions?

In our initial session, we spend a full hour getting to know you—your story, your health concerns, and your goals. From there, we create a personalized plan that we will break down into small, sustainable steps so you never feel overwhelmed with a list of things to do (we know, you already have a lot of things to do!). After that, we’ll continue meeting either weekly or bi-weekly, depending on your needs and preferences, to support you as you move forward.

Do you take insurance?

Yes! We accept Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. If you plan on using insurance, please check with your insurance before booking a call to verify benefits. Most people pay $0 for their nutrition sessions through insurance.

For out-of-network, we can create a “super bill” for reimbursement. With this, you can coordinate with your insurance company to see what they will and will not reimburse

What States can you see people in?

We can work with people and accept insurance in any state except North Carolina, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, & Ohio.

What are your cash pay rates?

Initial Appointment - $150
Follow-ups - $120

Do you accept HSA and/or FSA payments?

Yes, we accept both HSA and FSA payments.

Do you work with clients who are trying to lose weight?

We don’t provide intentional weight loss services, and we don’t use the scale as a measure of progress. Weight changes can happen for many reasons such as hormone shifts, digestion, insulin resistance, medications, stress, and more.

Our role is to help you uncover and address those root causes, rather than focusing on the number on the scale.

Weight changes can happen for many reasons like hormone shifts, digestion, insulin resistance, medications, stress, and more. Our role is to help you uncover and address those root causes, rather than focusing on the number on the scale.

We don’t do calorie counting, macro-based diets, or restrictive plans. Instead, we take a functional nutrition approach which involves looking at what’s driving your symptoms and building sustainable strategies to support your health from the inside out.

If your only goal is to lose weight, we’re not the right fit. But if you want to explore the why behind your symptoms and work toward lasting health changes, we’d be a great match.

Do you recommend supplements?

Yes, we do, but we always take a food-first approach. Our goal is for you to feel better without needing a cabinet full of pills to rely on for the rest of your life. That said, we recognize supplements can play a powerful role in supporting your health journey, especially when used strategically to help you rebalance and heal.

Do you provide any sort of clinical testing?

We use advanced testing when it makes sense for your care plan. This can include stool testing for GI concerns, DUTCH testing for hormones, Organic Acid Testing for mental health and nutrition insights, and micronutrient testing for a variety of concerns.

If we suspect that a test would give us helpful information, we’ll recommend it. We also provide a list of blood tests you can request from your doctor for specific conditions such as anxiety, depression, PCOS, high cholesterol, diabetes, and anemia.

Do you have in-person options?

Yes, we have limited in-person sessions available with select practitioners in: Navy Yard, DC at 150 I St SE Office 105 Washington, DC 20003.

Although this is an option for select conditions, most of our appointments are virtual.

What hours do you have available for appointments?

Availability varies by practitioner, but across our team we offer weekday appointments, Monday through Friday, from 7 AM – 7 PM EST, and Saturday 9 AM – 11 AM EST

How long do I need to work with you to see results?

It depends. Some clients start seeing changes in about 3 months, while others choose to work with us for a year or more. Since your symptoms didn’t show up overnight, the solution won’t either. We focus on real, lasting results, not quick fixes. Although we don’t have a commitment, we recommend planning for at least 3 months to start seeing sustained progress.

What is your cancellation policy?

We request 24 hours’ notice for non-emergent cancellations. Non-emergent cancellations within 24 hours will be charged the full session rate, so our clinicians can still be paid for their time. For emergency situations, the fee will be waived. We also offer a one time courtesy cancellation because sometimes life happens.
